Introduction
This sauce is super easy to make & is great poured over grilled, pan fried, baked or breaded chicken! I guess it's similar to the restaurant sauce from what I have been told (though I have never had it) Best served with cubed chicken & put over rice. May work nicely with pork or seafood as well! The nutrition info is for the sauce only! This sauce is super easy to make & is great poured over grilled, pan fried, baked or breaded chicken! Ingredients
-
1 Cup Water
3/8 Cup Lemon Juice (bottled is fine)
1/8 Cup Lime Juice
3/4 Cup Splenda (regular sugar works fine to but more calories)
3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
3 Drops Yellow Food Coloring (optional)
Directions
1. Put all your ingredients into your blender or food processor (I use my magic bullet!) and blend for a minute until cornstarch is completely dissolved! This can also be done with a bowl & whisk, I just find the appliance faster & easier.
2. Pour your now cloudy mixture into a sauce pan & put on the stove on medium high. You will want to gently wisk or stir it until it begins to boil. Once it gets hot enough to start bubbling it will thicken FAST! Continuing to stir over the heat for a minute until it has thickened up nicely~
If it is still too thin for your likely add a little more cornstarch but make sure to dissolve it in a little water first.... to thick? Slowly add little water.
Serves 4 almost 1/2 cup servings. Pour over your chicken & enjoy!
