Ingredients

    1 cup dry mixed beans
    10 cups water
    1/2 packageMcNair soup Mix
    1 jar of salsa (430ml)
    1 can diced tomatoes 796ml
    1 can tomato paste 156 ml
    8cups soup stock or 6 cans beef broth
    Celery salt
    Oregano
    1 cup celery cut up
    1 cup onion cut up
    1 cup carrots cut up

Directions

Method:
Rinse and scan beans for "foreign matter"
add package mix and soak overnight in water
Boil beans gently for about 1 hour in soaking water
Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
Boil gently untill barley, beans and vegetables are cooked add spices like chillie powder if needed.
sometimes I add some v8 juice if it is "flat"
