Introduction
A great recipe I picked up while living in Vienna, Austria. It goes great with Schnitzel or a piece of grilled chicken if you're trying to be healthier. Ingredients
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 pinch pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Directions
* Mix flour, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a medium bowl.
* In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
* Add eggs and milk to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
* Boil a large pot of water and place a colander over the pot. Press the spaetzle dough through colander into the pot of water.
* Boil for 5-7 minutes (all the spaetzle should float to the top) and drain.
* Saute the cooked spaetzle in margarine and place on plates.
* Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top, and serve. (I like to add a little shredded cheese on mine as well)
