preheat waffle iron. combine everything but egg whites and mix until lump free. beat egg whites to stiff peaks then fold into mixture. immediately pour half the batter into a 4-waffle iron and cook until buzzer sounds. makes 8 waffles. my iron accomodates 4 large belgium type waffles and half the batter does not quite fill it- they look more round which my son says he likes better!
