Ingredients

    14 small Onions, raw
    10 cup Beef broth, bouillon, consomme
    6 tsp (2 tbsp) Granulated Sugar
    1/2 cup Flour, whole grain
    1/2 cup Margarine or Butter (this recipe uses light for lower calories)
    1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
    1/2 cup Red Wine
    6 tsp Worcestershire Sauce,
    1/4 cup Soy Sauce

Directions

Saute onions in margarine until soft
Add sugar and mix
Add flour to absorb onion-butter juices
While onions are cooking, mix consomee with soy sauce and worcestershire sauce
After onion juices absorbed, slowly pour beef consomme stirring to mix the flour with the consomme
Cook on low for approximately 30 minutes
Add red wine
Just before serving add parmesan cheese
