Introduction

I wanted to be able to eat the chocolate cake with my family, so I tweaked it my way. I added the protein powder to the frosting...I was going to add it to the cake mix, but forgot before I dumped it into the pan. You might want to try it...I'm sure you could do the frosting out of the protein mix and cool whip lite or free...it would be yummy. Ingredients

    frosting --
    Duncan Hines Creamy Homestyle Chocolate frosting, 1 container
    EAS 100% Whey Protein, 1 serving
    Cool Whip Lite, 2 servings
    Cake --
    western family german chocolate cake, 1 box
    Applesauce, unsweetened, 1 cup
    western family egg substitute, .5 cup
    1/4 C semi sweet chocolate chips
    # Egg whites, 2 serving
    1 C water

Directions

Preheat oven to 350. Put cake mix, applesause, 1 C water and eggs in mixing bowl, mix on medium for two minutes. Spray a 9x13 cake pan, dust with flour. Pour cake mix into pan, sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. While baking, put frosting mix in a bowl, add protein powder and blend till smooth. Add cool whip and mix till well blended. When cake is cooked and cool,
