Ingredients

    For the meatballs:
    200g lean beef steak mince
    1 tsp basil
    1 tsp oregano
    Salt & pepper, to taste

    For the tomato sauce:
    2 x 400g tinned chopped tomatoes
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1 tsp oregano
    1 tsp basil
    Black pepper, to taste

Directions

Put the minced beef in a large bowl.
Add the herbs and seasoning and mix well.
Shape the mixture into 8 meatballs and set aside.

For the sauce, chop the onion and saute with the garlic over a low heat for 2-3 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, herbs and seasoning and bring to a simmer.
Drop the meatballs carefully into the sauce, cover with a lid and simmer gently for 45 minutes.
Serve with spaghetti or your favourite pasta.
