Ingredients

* 1/2 cup unsalted butter
* 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
* 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
* 1 egg
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* 3/4 cup whole grain flour
* 1/2 tsp baking soda
* 1/4 tsp salt
* 1-1/2 cups quick oats
* 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Directions
-Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
-In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until just blended. Mix in the quick oats and chocolate chips.
-Drop in spoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet, or press into a 9x13 cake pan. Cookies should take 9-12 minutes to bake until golden brown around the edge. In a cake pan, bake 12-15 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean and the top is slightly golden brown.
-Allow to cool for five minutes before cutting/removing from cookie sheet.
