Introduction

Ingredients

    BUNS
    1 1/2 cup whole grain white flour
    1/2 cup unbleached enriched flour
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    3 tablespoons smart balance butter blend
    1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/4 cup lowfat milk

    FILLING
    1 tablespoon smart balance butter
    1 tablespoon cinnamon
    1/4 cup brown sugar


    ICING
    1/4 cup powder sugar
    1 tablespoon lowfat milk
    1/4 teaspoon vnilla extract

Directions

BUNS
1. Mix dry ingredients together first. The flour, sugar, and baking powder. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Cut in smart balance. It helps if it is cut into squares.
3. Add applesauce, vanilla and milk.
4. Stir until doughy.
5. Kneed.
6. Chill for about an hour.
7. After that in needs rolled out until it's about 1/4 inch thick.



FILLING
1. Add brown sugar and cinnamon to to remaining smart balance
2. Melt in microwave.
3. Stir until moistened.
4. Spread over dough.
5. Roll dough into loaf.
6. Cut with string. Will make 18 buns.

7. Bake for 15- 20 minutes.


ICING
1. In small mixing bowl add ingredients and stir until well mixed. Will be very liquidy.
2. Apply icing to hot, freshly removed from oven, sweet buns.



Let cool and then enjoy.
