Ingredients

    Ingredients:
    Garlic, 2 clove
    Mushrooms, fresh, 1 cup, pieces or slices
    Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped
    Green Peppers (bell peppers), 1.50 cup, strips
    Peppers, sweet, red, raw, sliced, 1 cup
    Yellow Peppers (bell peppers), 1 pepper, large (3-3/4" long, 3" dia)
    93% Lean Ground Beef, 16 oz
    Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1 tbsp
    Del Monte Diced Tomatoes, No Salt Added, 1 cup
    Cherry Tomatoes, Fresh, 1 Tomato, 6 serving
    Ragu Chunky Gardenstyle Pasta Sauce Tomato, Garlic & Onion, 1.50 cup

    Saute onions and garlic (add more to taste) for 2-3 minutes, then add ground beef. Brown, add seasoning to taste (i like salt, pepper, and italian blend seasoning). Brown beef 5-10 minutes and drain. Add vegetables, add canned tomatoes (drained) and jar sauce. Let simmer down for 20-30 minutes. Serve over pasta of your choice.

    This is a very tasty and healthy bolognese. I don't add oil, I dry fry the mince first and drain off any excess fat. I also add an oxo cube whilst browning the mince and a good slug of Worcestershire sauce. I add tomato puree and don't use ready made sauce - it doesnt need it. Simmer until lush! - 4/21/10
