Yummy homemade sloppy Joe sauce - made with Ground Turkey. The original recipe is from the better baby food cookbook and calls for ground beef. Ingredients

    1 lb ground turkey, extra lean
    1 onion, finely chopped
    1/2 green pepper, finely chopped
    1/2 red pepper, finely chopped
    1 tbsp vinegar
    2 tsp brown sugar
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp prepared mustard
    1 tbsp ketchup
    1 to 2 tbsp molasses
    salt and pepper to taste

    Hot Dog or hamburger buns (not counted in the nutritional information)

Directions

1. In a frying pan over medium-high heat, cook ground turkey, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until browned. Drain off fat. With a slotted spoon, transfer meat to a paper towel lined plate or a colander to drain.

2. Add onions and peppers to frying pan and saute until soft. Return turkey to the pan, along with tomatoes, vinegar, brown sugar, salt and pepper (to taste), Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ketchup and molasses. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 45 minutes or until thick.

3. Serve on hot dog or hamburger buns.

Makes 10 - 0.5 cup servings.
