Introduction

Number of Servings: 36

Ingredients

    1 cup brown sugar
    3/4 butter, room temp.
    2 cups flour
    1 egg white
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    3/8 tsp. ground cloves
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1/4 tsp. ginger

Directions

Cream butter and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and mix, adding the flour last and a little at a time.

Chill for at least an hour.

Roll out dough on a well floured surface. Use cutters to make festive shapes.

Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees F. for 10-12 minutes. Cool on tray for a few minutes before removing to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Store in a tightly sealed container for to retain crispness.

Makes about 3 dozen cookies, depending on the size of your cutters.
