Introduction

A healthy alternative to the original A healthy alternative to the original
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1 toasted english muffin
    1 turkey sausage patty
    1/4 cup liquid egg substitute
1 teaspoon cheese sauce (I use ragu double chedder)

Directions

Of course, start with lightly toasting the muffin, set aside. Lightly spray non-stick coating into pan and on medium heat, cook egg sub. While doing this, microwave patty for 45 seconds on med-high. Take one spoonful of cheese sauce and spread on toasted muffin. Top with cooked egg and turkey sausage patty, and enjoy!

(I'm aware the cheese sauce isn't really healthy, but compared to sliced processed cheese, it's a bit better. Feel free to use whatever cheese you like or skip altogether for less fat/cals)

Haven't made this yet, but it sounds yummy. A good alternative to cheese sauce is veggie cheese. if you haven't tried it yet I'd highly reccommend! No fat, less calories, and good protein...and it tastes just the the real stuff. I sub all the time and my hubby is never the wiser! - 6/27/08

I used 2 real egg whites and low fat mozzarella cheese on a whole wheat english muffin. Delicious! I don't know why I didn't think to make it before. It's quick and easy! - 5/28/08

    Incredible!
I have been making these for a long time. I use canadian bacon the size of pepperonie pieces. Then instead of cheese sauce, I use shredded cheese. I also make the egg in the microwave then add cheese to melt. Use this on a wheat muffin. Very good substitute to Egg McMuffins. - 3/27/08

    Incredible!
I made this! I used a multi-grain light english muffin though (for more fiber, 8 grams per muffin) and it was such a great treat and substitute for us feeling deprived for not eating one at McDonalds! Thanks for sharing! :) - 3/18/08
