You can substitute water for the milk and the crust is "crisper". Our favorite is made with two cans of cherry pie filling. - 6/2/08

sounds really good. my friends mom always substitutes half of the butter in any baking recipe with the same amount of banana (pureed) so I'm going to make this using banana and splenda. of course I'll have to mix the banana and margarine really good, but she does it with all her cobblers and pies - 8/2/08

To Briarmama: a stick of butter is 4oz. I found this out by asking an American lady I heard chatting to her husband in a theatre foyer in London a few years ago! - 5/5/09

I reduced the butter to 2 tablespoons and give it a stir.
Wonderful with fresh or frozen fruits and topped with yogurt.

Tastey as it is but a bit sweet and almost greasy. I tried again with 1/2 stick (2 oz) butter and 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 skim milk. The batter was a bit too thick so it didn't rise as well. I also added about 1/4 tsp nutmeg to the batter and blueberries, which I don't like but loved the cobbler! - 8/18/08

So So Good. Good way to use up just about any type of fruit that is nearing it's life expectancy. I used 1/2 cup Splenda instead of sugar, wheat flour with 1 tsp of baking soda instead of self rising flour and half of the low fat marg. - 6/3/08

This sounds good! I will make it. I just read all of the comments and want to say that the people who said they wouldn't make it because it was too fattening must realize that they are in charge. Don't complain! Substitute!! Use splenda instead of sugar. Use an olive oil oleo instead of butter - 8/1/08

This was an easy recipe, but I'm afraid that's the only compliment I can give it. It was extremely greasy on the bottom, yet it stuck hard to the glass pan. To me it seemed tasteless and needed at least a little salt to redeem itself. Not one I would make again. - 12/9/13

This was HEAVENLY!! I halved the recipe and made it in individual sized aluminum tart pans. Used whole wheat flour and reg butter but that seemed to be a bit much so next time will probably cut that in half again. sprinkled a lil cinnamon on top and baked for about an hour. An absolute keeper!! - 8/14/11

Something was nit right, I wish I knew because it sounds so good and easy.It looked like the mix was too liquid. Any suggestions to improve my cook?
