Introduction

This vitamin giant can substitute for an entire breakfast. Great tasting and so very nutritious you might just throw out those hard to swallow vitamins! The recipe makes 2 - 4 servings (it is calculated here as 2). I have a serving then freeze the rest (sometimes in ice pop trays) for a quick evening compensation on those days when I can't always eat well. The kids will not complain about this for breakfast either. You can vary the taste by using any other frozen fruit you like. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do ... they are 'TOTALLY' good! Ingredients

100 grams (freshly frozen) banana slices
3/4 cups Total WHOLE GRAIN dry cereal
    1/2cup 2% Milk
1/4 cup frozen Strawberries (no extra sugar added) thawed OR still frozen is alright

Directions

Freeze banana slices in a small freezer bag (in one layer) at least 1 hour before you need them. I put them in the night before.

Measure out dry cereal then place in a blender until it is a very fine powder. Pour in the milk and let sit 5 min (or until the cereal is nice and soft). Add the frozen strawberries and blend until they are mixed in. Then add the frozen bananna slices and blend until smooth. If it is too thick, give it a stir and add ice cubes (one at a time as not to make it too thin). It should be thick like a shake. You could add splenda or other sweetner but I think it is sweet enough on its own. You could use different types of fruits or berries. I usually keep some ground up Total Whole Grain on hand in an airtight container (you can add a little to many things like cookies, muffins, even cake to up the nutritional value).
