Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

1 serving cooked oats (quick or regular rolled oats)
1 cup uncooked oats (quick or regular rolled oats)
    1/2 cup pecans, coarsely ground
    1/4 cup almonds, coarsely ground
    2 Tbsp sesame seeds
    1 Tbsp instant bouillon
    1/2 cup celery, minced
    1/4 cup onion, minced
    1 tsp dried basil
    1/4 tsp dried thyme
    1/4 tsp mustard powder
    2 Tbsp soy sauce

Directions

Use either old fashion or 1 minute type oats. Follow cooking directions on oatmeal packaging. 1 serving cooked oats equals 1/2 cup dry oats and 1 cup water. Make sure the cooked oats soak up all the water and becomes sticky. The cooked oats is what holds your burger together.

Mix all ingredients together well. Form into 1/2 cup patties and bake on greased cookie sheet for 45 minutes or until cooked through at 350 degrees. You can also grill them until cooked through.

Goes Well With: whole wheat rolls, cheese, tomato slices, lettuce, onion and your favorite condiments. (calories for these items need to be counted separately)

Makes 5 patties (1/2 cup each).
