Introduction

A go to easy meal that my family gobbles up! A go to easy meal that my family gobbles up!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    96/4 Ground Beef, 1 1/2 pounds
Onion powder, to taste about 1 tbsp
Garlic powder, to taste about 1 tbsp
    Salt, to taste
    Pepper, black, to taste
Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce, to taste about 1 tbsp
Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 tbsp
Low Fat Cream of Mushroom Soup, 1 can + 1 can of water
Mushrooms, canned, 1 jar ( I use Jolly Green Giant brand)
Uncle Ben's Long Grain White Rice 1/4 cup rice dry = 1 cup cooked

Directions

First make the rice according to the package either in a rice cooker or on the stove top.

While the rice is cooking mix the seasonings into the ground meat and measure out four 6 oz "patties" using a food scale. Shape into patties.

Place Olive oil in the skillet, and then pan fry the patties in the skillet until cooked through. Take out patties and set to the side. In the skillet pour in the Cream of Mushroom Soup plus the can of water, mix thoroughly, add the mushrooms. Add the patties back to the "gravy" mixture and let come to a simmer with the gravy.

When the rice is finished cooking, serve 1 cup onto plate, pour 1/2 cup of the gravy onto the rice and plate along with the hamburger steak pattie.

This makes four 6 oz patties served over 1/2 to 1 cup of rice, with 1/2 cup of gravy.

To consume this properly you must have a bite of Hamburger steak with the rice and gravy together. :)

A cajun kitchen staple, made healthier.
