Introduction
A family favorite that we have several times a week. So easy to make that we make it even on school days. The servings are according to the waffle iron that I use. The waffles are about 4" square and about 1 inch thick. A family favorite that we have several times a week. So easy to make that we make it even on school days. Ingredients
-
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs
2 cups milk (2%)
Directions
Heat waffle iron.
Mix all ingredients until smooth. Should be a little thicker then a cake batter. I sometimes have to add a little extra milk as the whole wheat absorbs the liquid.
Pour 1/2 cup mixture into hot waffle iron. Cook to desired doneness.
Top with desired toppings. Our family loves applesauce (or other fruit) and sour cream or yogurt.
Makes 12 - 4"x4"x1" waffles
