Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    6 Cups Water
    1 lb Red Lentils
    1 T Garlic Powder
    1 Large Onion, chopped
    1.5 T Cumin
    .5 t cayenne pepper
    Salt to taste

Directions

Combine ingredients in a soup pot. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, and allow to cook until lentils fall apart and soup becomes creamy - or blend it with a stick blender when lentils are soft. Any combination of red and green lentils can be used. Red lentils will "dissolve" as the soup is cooking where as green lentils will hold form.

    Very Good
I used fresh garlic and had to add more water than is stated, but I was amazed something so simple to make tasted so good. Definitely a keeper! - 5/20/13
