One of my favorite comfort foods. Inexpensive, easy, and delicious! Put this in the crockpot in the morning and come home to a wonderful dinner. Ingredients

    1 lb split peas
    1/2 lb of smoky ham, chopped (or chopped cooked bacon)
    2 quarts water
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions

Combine in the crock pot and cook at low for 8-10 hours.
