Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    In1 cup all purpose flour
    1 tsp pepper
    5 green tomatoes sliced
    2 eggs
    1tsp salt
    1 cup crushed crackers
    1/2 cup vegetable oil or butter

Directions

Place flour, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Also place crushed crackers in a bowl and beaten eggs in another bowl. Place vegetable oil in large skillet over medium heat ( if using butter, melt it in skillet.). Dip each tomato slice in egg then flour mix, redip floured tomato in egg, then place in crackers. Put tomato in ho skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 3 minutes per side. Serve hot.

    Wow....never had fried green tomatoes before...but we had alot left over in our garden..This reciepe is delicious...I used club puffs instead of crackers, gave a little bit of buttery taste...very yummy..thanks for sharing... - 10/13/08

    Very Good
    Very good but used Panko bread crumbs instead of crackers. - 9/27/13
