Introduction

Ingredients

    1/2 lb Butter
    1 Cup Sugar
    1/4 Cup Karo Syrup
    1/4 Cup Honey
    1 tsp Maple Flavoring
    1/2 Cup Ground Mixed Nuts
    5 Cups Quick Cooking Oatmeal

Directions

Cream together the butter, sugar, syrup, honey, and maple flavoring. Add the mixed nuts and oatmeal while mixing. Spread into a backing pan and press it down firmly so it is about 1/2 inch thick. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 15 to 18 minutes. As soon as the bread is taken from the oven press it down again with a spatula to keep from crumbling. Cut into desired serving sizes while still warm. Recipe makes 12 servings per nutritional info.

    Incredible!
    Made a batch of this for pre or post-bike rides. Worked great! No sugar crash and was very satisfying without feeling heavy, as with many sugary treats. I think the next batch, I'm going to go for broke and add toffee chips to the mix and serve it up with some creamy all-natural peanut butter. - 9/24/12
