Introduction

Ingredients

    1 C water
    1/2 C dried fruit bits (such as Sunmaid)
    2 tsp light butter
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
    1/4 tsp ground turmeric
    dash of ground cardamom
    1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 C whole wheat or plain couscous, uncooked
    3 T thinly sliced green onions

Directions

Combine first 8 ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir in couscous, return to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low; simmer 2 minutes or until water is absorbed.

Remove from heat; add green onions. Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Fluff before serving. Serving Size: 3/4 Cup.
