Introduction

I make these easy beans on cold days when I know my husband will be coming home from work cold and hungry. We eat them as a main dish but they can be used as a side also. I use bacon in this recipe but you can substitute bone in chicken also. Sometimes we use potatoes also if we don't have meat. Ingredients

    -16 oz Pinto beans (soaked over night)
    -3 slices thick bacon
    -2 chicken buillion cubes
    -3 carrots
    -1 med onion (we like yellow but white will work too)
    -8 cups water (later you may need to add more so you have a broth)

Directions

1. Add soaked pinto beans, buillion cubes, bacon, carrots, onion and water to crockpot.
2. Turn crockpot on high and cook for 6 hours.
3. Turn crockpot down to low untill ready to serve.

    This is super good, I added a hand full of mini carrots, and three cubes instead of two, I lost count, - 12/30/12
