Ingredients

    3/4 cup flour
    1 1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cinnamon, ground
    1/2 tsp nutmeg, ground
    1/4 tsp mace, ground
    1/3 tsp cloves, ground
    1/2 pound raisins (2/3 cup)
    1/2 pound currants (2/3 cup)
    1/4 pound chopped dates (1/3 cup)
    4 oz. mixed fruit chopped (1/3 cup)
    1/2 cup fine bread crumbs
    1 cup scalded milk
    1/4 cup sugar
    4 eggs separated
    2 cups chopped suet
    1/2 cup boiled water

Directions

Mix flour, salt & spices & mix through fruits. Soak bread crumbs in scalded milk for 10 minutes. Beat egg yolks & beat in sugar, then add suet & soaked bread crumbs. Stir into fruit mixture, blend well. beat egg whites and fold into mixture. Turn into a greased 1 1/2 quart mold, cover & steam for 3 1/2 hours.
