Introduction

Authentic Spanish sangria recipe from P Johnson Authentic Spanish sangria recipe from P Johnson
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

1 bottle red wine (Cabernet or Merlot)
    1/3 cup sugar
    1 large lemon, w/ peel
    1 large orange, w/ peel
2 cups Fresca (or other diet lemon lime soda)

Directions

Makes 8 drinks.

Cut a thick peel of lemon and orange -- get plenty zest and white "meat" of the peel. Squeeze all the juice from both the lemon and orange into pitcher. Add 1/3 cup sugar to the peel and fruit juice. Let sit (an hour is good).

Add wine. Let sit -- the longer the better. Add 2 cups of Fresca -- serve and enjoy.

If you make with white wine, you can add 3 cups of Fresca because white wine drinkers usually like it lighter.
