Introduction
My basic Recipe for marinating and cooking fish. Works well with Fresh Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Opah, or any other local fresh catch of the day! My basic Recipe for marinating and cooking fish. Works well with Fresh Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Opah, or any other local fresh catch of the day!Number of Servings: 2
Ingredients
-
8oz of Fresh Ahi (Yellow Fin) Tuna, or other fresh fish (cut into 2 - 4oz fillets or steaks)
1 Tbsp Chili Macadamia Nut Oil
1 Tbsp Kaiulani's "Hawaiian Cajun Seasoning" (or other quality cajun spice)
1/8 Cup Water
1 tsp Bragg's liquid aminos (or soy sauce)
wasabi paste
Directions
Make 2 - 4oz servings
1. mix oil, spices, Bragg's and 1/8C water in a bowl big enough to hold the fish steaks or fillets snuggle.
2. add the fish pieces in making sure to completely cover all surfaces. For the best flavour, let the fish marinade in the fridge for a minimum 10 minutes or maximum 2 days. (I prep my fish first, then start my grains cooking, then make a salad or cooked greens. By the time my side dishes are done, the fish has had enough time to marinade and is ready to cook.)
3. preheat frying pan to med heat. add fish with its sauce to pan. cook for a minute or two on each side, adding small amounts of water to the pan so the marinade sauce doesn't burn. ***most people tend to over cook fish. This makes it tough and dry. It literally takes just a minute or two on each side. don't over-cook it!***
4. remove from heat and serve with a little wasabi paste on the side. Enjoy!!!
