Ingredients

    * *Whole Wheat Penne (dry), 42 oz (remove)
    * *Hunt's Spaghetti Sauce (Garlic&Herb)(1/2c), 13 serving (remove)
    * *Tomato products, Hunts Diced Tomatoes w/ Basil, Garlic, and Oregano, 3.5 serving (remove)
    * Tomato Sauce, 1 cup (remove)
    * Mushrooms, cooked, 4 cup pieces (remove)
    * *Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1 tbsp (remove)
    * Green Peppers (bell peppers), 2 cups, chopped (remove)
    * Onions, raw, 6 tbsp chopped (remove)
    * *Parsely, raw 1 Tablespoon, 8 tbsp (remove)
    * Ground Turkey, 1 unit, yield from 1 lb raw (remove)

Directions

I fill one large pot with water and set it on the stove on high with a lid on with high heat to boil the pasta ( follow instructions on box) . Then I heat a large and high skillet on medium and then add the olive oil. I swirl it around and then add the ground turkey, the chopped green peppers, onions, mushrooms, Mrs. Dash, garlic and black pepper and cook them all a few minutes, turning often, until the turkey is cooked and broken up. Then I add the tomato bits and sauce. I stir it around in the turkey until its blended well. After a couple of minutes I add the two cans of Hunt's Spaghetti Sauce and stir everything together and turn down the heat to low and put the lid on to simmer. While that is simmering in the skillet, the water should be boiling in the pot and I put the pasta in the water and stir it for one minute so it doesn't stick to the bottom. I don't add salt to the water. I know you are supposed to, but I am trying to reduce salt wherever I can and the sauce already has a lot of sodium.

Whatever time the instructions say that your pasta is done turn off the stove...then drain it and turn off the stove under the skillet and pour the turkey sauce into the big pot of pasta and stir until its all mixed through. One serving is two cups prepared Pasta and sauce together. I add the chopped parsley on top before eating. Sometimes I add a serving of low fat shredded or Parmesan cheese on top. But that adds calories. Its up to you.
