Introduction

Basil and lime can be modified to taste. We like the tart finish with this combination, but you may like a little less. Great spread for whole wheat wraps or veggie dip. Can use in place of mayo for twist on tuna salad. Basil and lime can be modified to taste. We like the tart finish with this combination, but you may like a little less. Ingredients

    2 c chickpeas (garbanzo beans), rinsed and drained
    4 tbs tahini paste
    .5 c marinated artichoke hearts
    3 tsp basil herb paste (or fresh basil to taste)
    .25 c lime juice (or to taste)

Directions

Process chickpeas, artichokes and basil in food processor. Mix in tahini paste until smooth - can add extra water or the marinade from artichokes if too thick. Add lime juice to taste and mix well. Refrigerate overnight or serveral hours to blend flavors.

Serving Size: makes 8 1/4 c servings
