Ingredients

    2 lb ground beef
    28-oz can tomato sauce
    2 6-oz cans tomato paste
    oven-ready lasagne noodles
    1 c. part-skim ricotta
    1 egg
    1 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. oregano
    8-12 oz shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

Brown ground beef with salt & oregano to taste. Add tomato sauce (reserve 4 oz) and tomato paste. Simmer. Mix ricotta cheese with egg and basil.

Put 2 oz of reserved tomato sauce in bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish and swirl to coat bottom. Put in a light layer of mozzarella cheese. Layer 3 lasagne noodles, 1/2 beef mix, 1/2 ricotta mixture, sprinkle with mozzarella and repeat. Put a final topping of lasagne noodles, cover with remaining reserved 2 oz of tomato sauce and a final sprinkling of cheese.

Bake at 350F for 30-45 minutes, cool before cutting and serving.
