Introduction

We used to make these potatoes when we camped, by making up an aluminum foil packet full of the ingredients and throwing them on the coals. That's how it got the name "Creek Taters". Since everyone loves cheese, I added that and started making it in the microwave. Now we can easily have them whenever we want... not just when camping or grilling! Ingredients

    5 potatoes, peeled and sliced
    1/2 cup onion, diced
    1/4 cup margarine
    1/2 cup Cheez Whiz
2 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
    1/4 cup water

Directions

Put half the potato slices in a lightly greased 8" x 8" glass pan, preferably one with a lid so steam can help in the cooking. Place half the onions on top, and half the margarine, which you should cut into small cubes. Add salt and pepper. Repeat with remaining potatoes, onions and margarine. I put the Cheez Whiz on top, divided into a couple of blobs. Pour on the 1/4 cup of water. Cover dish with lid or plastic wrap, folded back on one corner of the pan to vent.

Microwave on 60% for 10 minutes. Poke potatoes with a fork to check for doneness. Microwave for another 10 minutes at 70%. Again, check for doneness. Stir until all mixed up and ENJOY!
