Ingredients

    3 cups mixed beans, lentils and dried peas
    4 cups water
    4 cups low sodium chicken broth
    2 large carrots
    1 large stalk celery
    5 Johnsonville hot italian sausages
    2-3 teaspoons chopped garlic
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 tablespoon hot pepper seasoning
    1 can 8 oz. mushrooms, drained
    2 medium potatoes. chunked
    salt and pepper
    Bring to boil the beans with the chicken broth and water, add the sauteed sausage, celery, carrots, garlic, onion and red pepper seasoning, salt and pepper to taste. When beans are nearly cooked, add the chopped potatoes

Tips

Peas add thickening, sausages add spicy effect


Directions

Place 3 Cups mixed beans, peas, lentils etc., in stew pot add 4 cups water and 4 cups chicken broth and bring to a boil while you are sauteing in olive oil, the sausages cut into small pieces, add crushed garlic, onion and add to the boiling mixture. Chop or slice carrots and celery and add to cooking beans and when beans are nearly done, add can mushrooms and diced red or white potatoes. Add dried red pepper and salt and black pepper to taste.
