Introduction

Ingredients

Milk, 1 cup
Sugar, 1/3 cup
Butter, 1/3 cup
Eggs, 2 large
Salt, 1 tsp
Yeast, 1 pkg or 2 tsp
White flour, 4 cups
Cardamon, 6 ground seeds or 4 tsp
Directions
Add 1/3 cup of warm water to yeast in a separate bowl and allow yeast to proof. In a medium saucepan on med-low heat, combine butter, milk and sugar until sugar is fully dissolved and butter is melted. Allow to cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs with salt and cardamon. Add contents of saucepan and yeast and mix. Add flour 1/2 cup at a time until a ball of dough forms. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead 15-20 minutes, adding flour as needed.
Grease a large bowl and allow dough to rise covered for 45-60 minutes. Divide dough and lightly knead dough into oblongs. Grease two large loaf pans and allow to rise in the pan for 30 minutes or until doubled. Score the tops of the loaves with a sharp knife.
Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until top is a dark golden.
