Ingredients

    6 pork chops
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. apple cider vinegar
    1/2 c. ketchup
    3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 large onion, chopped
    salt and pepper

Tips

I have skipped browning the meat and just put it in the crockpot too. I think it does taste better when you brown the meat though.
I like this dish with broccoli, peas, and green salad to have a full meal.

Directions

Crockpot version:
Brown salted and peppered meat in skillet until browned. Mix together sauce ingredients and cover meat in crockpot. Let cook all day and the meat is very tender by dinner time. Thicken sauce for gravy over rice.

Oven version:
Brown salted and peppered meat in skillet until browned. Mix together sauce ingredients and cover meat. Cover the meat and bake about three hours in a 325 degree oven for beef, 350 for pork. Baste often with sauce. Turn meat and don't let it dry out. You may have to add more liquid. Thicken the liquid for a gravy to serve over rice. Adjust ingredients to suit your taste.
