Introduction
I like the idea of healthier chicken nuggets, but wanted an alternative to corn flakes. The wheaties are perfect. I like the idea of healthier chicken nuggets, but wanted an alternative to corn flakes. The wheaties are perfect.Number of Servings: 2
Ingredients
-
8oz Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
2 cups Wheaties Cereal
1/2 cup liquid egg white
.14 cup White Whole Wheat Flour
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Salt
1tsp Pepper
Tips
You could give them a quick spray of oil, however this is not calculated into the nutrients. But if you use a spray, such as Pam (I like the Butter flavored on these), it will add minute amount of caloric value. But be sure to just give them a quick spray!
Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Crush Wheaties (I prefer a quick run in the food processor). Place into bowl.
Place egg whites into seperate bowl.
Cut chicken breast into 1 inch pieces. Place into Ziploc bag. Add to the bag the flour, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Take chicken and dip into egg first then into Wheaties, being sure that the chicken is complete coated. Place on baking sheet in a single layer. Cook in oven for about 10 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink.
