Introduction

Trying out different seasonings to flavor up ground chicken for a better burger. I just winged it and wrote down what I put in as I went along. It was so yummy that my husband wanted seconds! I loved it too! Trying out different seasonings to flavor up ground chicken for a better burger. I just winged it and wrote down what I put in as I went along. Ingredients

    1lb Perdue Ground Chicken Breast
    1/2 pkg (1.75oz) of Fat Free Feta Cheese (1pkg = 3.5oz size)
1/2 - 1 TBS Ground Mustard (add a bit more or less to taste)
2 TBS Dried Cilantro (or to taste)
1 TBS Onion Powder (can also use fresh chopped onion, 1/2 of med or 1 small finely chopped)

Tips

This was such a whim, trying different things to make ground chicken more appetizing for my family as well as myself.

When done, we put these on Market Basket Brand Light Whole Wheat burger buns with Green Leaf Lettuce and Sliced Vine Ripened Tomato. (YUMMMM!!)

I did opt for 1TBS of regular mayo (and it was worth it LOL) but yellow mustard or a mayo substitute (such as Lemon-aise) are very good too. There are many lowfat or fat free options, but even by itself with the lettuce & tomato is good. :-)

For extra iron consider using spinach leaves instead of lettuce. I've done this due to my iron deficiency and it's SO good with either the baby or adult spinach.

I hope you enjoy this as much as we all did! :-)

Directions

In medium size bowl, combine Ground Chicken Breast, Fat Free Feta and Dried Cilantro. Mix gently until evenly mixed.

Add Onion Powder and Dried Mustard in small increments & mix gently to be sure it's worked through evenly within the meat.

Using non-stick spray, lightly coat a large frying pan and add all 4 Patties, cooking on Medium Heat for approximately 10 minutes on each side or until internal temperature is 160 degrees.
