Ingredients

    l/2 cup water
    l small onion, finely chopped
    l garlic clove, minced
    l/2 to 1 teaspoon curry powder
    l/2 taspoon ground cumin
    l/4 teaspoon ground coriander
    l/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    Pinch ground cloves
    l/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
    One 151/2-ounce can chopped tomatoes with their juice
    One 10-ounce box frozen peas, thawed
    Freshly ground pepper


Tips

Can serve over rice or potatoes, garnished with cilantro.


Directions

Place the water in a large pot. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring until the onion softens slightly. Add all the spices and cook 1 minute. Add the remaining ingredients except the pepper. Simmer ovr low heat for 15 minutes
