Introduction
First, it's not really ice cream. But it is good and satisfied my craving for the real thing, and only has about 105 calories in the entire recipe. First, it's not really ice cream. Ingredients
-
3 medium or 2 large frozen, unsweetened strawberries
1 banana, frozen, sliced
1 teaspoon soy milk (or almond/coconut/rice milk)
1 sweet cherry, fresh
Tips
You should peel the banana and place it in a freezer bag before freezing it. They are hard to peel when frozen (I wasn't thinking). It is not hard to slice frozen, though, so it doesn't really matter if you slice it before freezing. I suggest organic bananas because the regular ones have a funny aftertaste, but that's just my opinion. You can exchange the strawberries for other fruits to vary the flavor a bit.
Directions
Put the first 3 ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. I had to keep pushing it off the sides with a spatula. Place it in a bowl and top with the cherry.
