Number of Servings: 8

Tomatoes, canned (or fresh vine), chopped, no salt added, 3.5 cup
Hunt's Tomato Sauce, no salt added, 0.75 cup
    Onions, raw, 1.5 cup, chopped
    Garlic, 4 tsp
Summer Squash, 1 cup, sliced small chunks
    Chicken stock, home-prepared, 1 cup
    Pepper, red (flakes), 1 tsp
    Black pepper, 1.5 tsp

    Parsley, dried, 1 tbsp
    Cloves, ground, 1.5 tsp
    Granulated Sugar, 1 tsp
    Basil, 1 tbsp
Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 3 tbsp

Serve over noodles (egg or whole wheat). Nutrition calculation only includes the sauce, not the noodles. Add ground hamburger to turn this into a meaty marinara sauce.

Saute chopped onions in extra virgin olive oil until translucent. Add all other ingredients. bring to boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for at least 30 minutes. Add additional (no salt added) chicken stock or water if consistency is too thick. Red pepper flakes add a little spice/heat, but you can leave them out if desired.
