Ingredients

    1 can black beans, drained & rinsed
    1 can kidney beans, drained & rinsed
    1 cup quick cooking oats
    2 TB ketchup
    2 TB yellow mustard
    2 TB worchestershire
    salt, pepper, other seasonings to taste

Tips

When we serve these on sandwich rounds with guacamole, coleslaw, or other fresh veggies, the kids don't miss the meat at all - they LOVE them!


Directions

Mash beans in a mixing bowl. Add condiments and seasonings to taste (I like to add garlic salt, chile powder, cumin and grill seasoning. Sometimes I use BBQ sauce instead of ketchup or mustard.) Mix well. Add oats and mix until fully incorporated. Shape patties and bake on a parchment-lined cookie sheet at 400 degrees. Flip once at 10 minutes, then cook another 10 for a total of 20 minutes.

Serving Size: Makes 6 large patties (or 8 small ones)
