Introduction

Ingredients

    2 Cans 15oz Eden Organic Garbanzo Beans No Salt Added
    1/4 C Tahini Paste (Joyva is the brand I used, no salt added, in case you wondered)
    Juice from 2 large lemons
    3 T ground Cumin
    2 T Garlic Powder (prefer fresh but powder is all I had)
    2 T Paprika
    1 1/2 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    (Optional 1/4 t salt)
    Reserved juice from one can of beans

Tips

The serving size of 1/2 C is based off the serving size from the can of Garbanzo beans. However, with the removal of the fluid from one can and the addition of the other ingredients, this of course expands the amount of actual garbanzo beans in each serving. The Garbanzo beans and the salt are the only two ingredients I can say with 100% surety of their measurements. The rest was estimated.

The brand of beans is something I couldn't find in Sparkpeople and had to add to the index and I'm assuming that the juice is included in each serving size.

Considering I'm tossing out the juice from one can, this actually changes the sodium content to be less than what's portrayed.

If you remove the addition of the salt, this will drastically reduce the sodium content from 125.4mg to 46.8mg...

Anyone want to figure out the part of how much less it is without the juice from one can, feel free, lol!

Also, I came to nearly 8 servings... but I wasn't able to get an accurate measurement this time. When I make it again, I'll measure everything more accurately and adjust the serving size accordingly.


Directions

Place Garbanzo beans, +Juice from 1 can into processor and process until smooth-ish
Add in remaining ingredients & blend.

Serving Size: Makes 7 total servings of 1/2 C
