Introduction

Easy to fix beef stew using a slow cooker!Do in early to late morning to have ready for dinner that night! Add rolls or some bread and a glass of milk for a complete meal! Ingredients

    Beef Chuck 2.73 lb. total
    water,3c.
    basil,1 tablespoon
    Prime Rib Seasoning~can be bought @ BBQ Galore [though Mrs.Dash is all they have],1 tablespoon
    2 bags of Ralph's Value Frozen Stew Vegetables,32 oz each {2 lb/907g}~Each bag contains potaoes,carrots,onions,celery ALREADY CUT AND PREPARED~ The SP system doesn't list this so I had to choose the items separately
    1 Beef Bouillon cube {added to a spearate cup of water}

Tips

If frozen bags of veggies are bought ,the prep is lowered considerably! I put in 2 bags of Ralph's Frozen veggies {each is 2 lbs. containg celery,carrots onions, and potatoes} . However, for cals. ,I had to list each separately since SP doesn't have Raplh's Frozen Stew Vegetables in their system forfiguring cals. The bag says for a 3/4 c.=45 cal and since I doubled the amt. it would be 90 cals.per 3/4 cup.


Directions

Brown beef cubes. Pour in 3 c. water into slow cooker. Put cooker on for 6 hours.Put in strained beef & veggies from the two bags. Add 1 cup beef bouillon [you put the beef bouillon cube in a Pyrex glass measuring cup with 1c. water & microwave for 3 min.].Add spices listed. stir once an hour or two to mix ingredients well.
