Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

1LB Beef Sirloin cut bite size (stew meat)
1 envelope Dry onion soup mix
1 cup each diced: carrot, potato, celery
1 cup Dry Barley (like Quaker Quick Pearled Barley)
1 can diced Tomatos with chili's
1 Tablespoon Black Pepper (or to taste)
    Water (approx. 6 cups)
2 Beef Bullion Cubes (or 2 cups beef broth)

Tips

While my beef browns, I dice all my fresh veggies to bite size as well. This is a fairly easy cut and dump recipe! Leftovers freeze well.

Directions

Place in large pot bite size cut beef top sirloin. Brown and add 3 cups water, dry onion soup, veggies and canned tomato's with chili's. (My family likes the tomato and chili's pureed) Cook 10 minutes, add 1 cup Quaker Quick Barley and additional 3 cups water, and continue to cook over medium heat for about 10 more minutes. We eat it thick like chili consistency. But water here is a free be! You can add another 2-4 cups water to 'thin' it to your liking. My version makes 15 cups for 1.5 cup servings.
