Introduction

Ingredients

    1 1/2 cup lentils, rinsed
    2 stalks fresh celery, thinly sliced
    2 large fresh carrots, thinly sliced
    1 cup wild rice, cooked
    2 large cloves garlic, minced
    1 medium Yukon Gold potato
    1 tbsp chili paste
    1 tbsp tumeric powder
    1 tbsp curry powder
    1 tsp salt, to taste
    1tbsp black pepper
    1 bay leaf
    broth or water

Tips

In the beginning of cooking, you may need to add more broth as the beans and rice absorb the moisture. Simmer no more than 2 hours.


Directions

Combine all ingredients in at least a 4 quart pot. Cover with broth or water. Simmer on low for at least one hour. Stir at least every 15 minutes. Soup will become thicker the longer it cooks. Can puree if you like.
