Introduction

The longer it simmers the better! The longer it simmers the better!
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb extra lean Hamberger
    1/2 (medium) onion, chopped
    1 (29 oz) can Tomato Sauce
    1 (14.5 oz) can Diced Tomatoes with sweet onion
    2 Bay Leaves
    1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon dried basil
    1 teaspoon dried oregano
    salt and pepper to taste

Tips

This can be made several different ways. With different diced tomato flavors, 1/2 lb of Italian Sausage etc. I needed to use up a whole lb of burger, and based nutional values on how I made it today. (Made with what I had on hand)


Directions

In large pan brown hamberger and onion. Drain.
In large sauce pan combine remaining ingredients. Add hamberger/onion.
Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 1.5 hours or longer.
(The longer it simmers the better the flavor but will become thicker and yield less servings)

Serving Size: Makes approx. 8 (1/4 cup) servings
