Ingredients

    -1 Artichoke
-1/4 tbsp garlic powder (to taste)
-1/4 tbsp ground pepper (to taste)
    -1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
    -1 tbsp unseasoned breadcrumbs
-1 tbsp of any type of herb seasoning

Directions

1) Cut stem off artichoke and cut in half and set oven to 'Broil'
2) Steam artichokes in a mixture of water and herb seasoning for approximately 10 minutes (or until tender). Will be tender if you are able to stick a fork through the bottom of the artichoke
3) When artichokes are tender, take them out of the steamer and place in an oven safe tray. Clean artichokes by removing 'fur' from the center of the artichoke (this is easily done with a spoon)
4) Place artichokes open side up and sprinkle the desired amount of balsamic, garlic powder, ground pepper and unseasoned breadcrumbs on artichoke
5) Place artichokes in oven on top rack for approximately 5 minutes
**If looking for an artichoke dip, there is a recipe below that can be made during the time the artichokes are in the oven**
6) Take out and enjoy!

I dip my artichokes in a lemon honey-mustard sauce:
1 tbsp low fat mayonnaise
1/4 tsp mustard
1/4 tsp honey
1/4-1/2 tbsp lemon juice

Mix together and enjoy! This is the perfect time to mix when the artichokes are in the oven.
