Introduction

This is my brother's original recipe. He usually makes it with no meat, but today we had leftover ham from which I had removed all the fat I could find. This is my brother's original recipe. Ingredients

    1 gallon (4 qts.) water
1 medium onion, chopped or diced
2 large stalks of raw celery, chopped
    3 large, raw carrots, chopped
    1 cup raw broccoli, chopped
9 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped or diced
1 1/2 cups chopped, lean ham (opt.)
1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 15 oz. can diced tomatoes
1 15 oz. can whole kernel corn
1 15 oz. can green peas
    1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
    1 capful Kitchen Bouquet
    2 beef bouillion cubes
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. black pepper

Tips

Salt and pepper to your taste. My brother goes for low sodium content. I always add a dash more salt and a couple more dashes of pepper to my own bowl.

Directions

Put the water in a large soup kettle on medium high, then add the other ingredients in order listed. When liquid begins to boil, turn it down to simmer ingredients until raw veggies are tender and flavors have had time to meld.
