Number of Servings: 45

Ingredients

    1/2 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick, softened but DO NOT melt!!)
    1/2 cup oil
    1 large egg
    2+1/4 cups flour (All Purpose!)
    1/2 tsp Cream Of Tartar
    1/2 tsp Baking Soda
    1/2 tsp Vanilla

Tips

if you use unsalted butter make sure to add up to 1/4 tsp salt. DO NOT omit the salt for optimal flavor. Per a suggestion of a friend I added plain m&m's and they are FANTASTIC! Also, when checking if they are done without overcooking they still have a "shine" to them. if the edges try to brown before they are done, turn down the temp for the next batch (browned doesn't taste bad they just taste best when they are still "white") No frosting necessary!

Directions

Cream both sugars and butter, add oil and finish creaming. Add egg and mix again. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Dough will be very smooth and very soft. (if too soft, can refrigerate) Preheat oven to 375. Roll into walnut sized balls and place on UNGREASED cookie sheet. Cover bottom of cup (glass works best) with granulated sugar and flatten each ball until the cookie -just- reaches the outer edge (edges usually crack a little but this cooks out) bake for approximately 10 minutes -DO NOT BROWN-

Serving Size: Approximately 45 cookies
