Introduction

My family and I LOVE onion rings, but have given them up until today! I was cooking up some steak & it came to mind to sautee some onions as a topper for the steak, and this is what unfolded! It's super yummy and both my husband and I felt like we were eating onion rings, only not deep fried & super easy to make! My family and I LOVE onion rings, but have given them up until today! Ingredients

1 med - large onion, cut into strips
1 clove of garlic, chopped or minced
    2 T butter, salted
    1/3 c 4C Seasoned Bread Crumbs

Tips

I calculated the recipe using olive oil instead of butter, and found a 20 calorie difference, in favor of the butter, which we found we prefer when sautéing onions and bread crumbs individually, so combined it is fantastic!

Directions

1 - Cut fresh onion into strips of desired size & add to pan
2 - Add freshly chopped or minced garlic and add to pan
3 - Add butter and heat on Medium heat until onion strips begin to wilt
4 - Add bread crumbs to pan and sautee for approx. 1-2 minutes until well blended and bread crumbs are toasted.
5 - Serve immediately over steak or as a side.
