500g strong white bread flour
2 sachets fast action yeast (14g)
9g salt
320ml water
4tsp olive oil
Tips
Oiling your worksurface lightly prevents the dough from sticking during kneading.
Directions
Combine ingredients to a dough & then put a few drops of oil on your worksurface. This will prevent the dough from sticking during kneading.
Knead the dough for about 10 mins & then place in an lightly oiled bowl and top with lightly oiled clingfilm or a damp teatowel. Then leave for 1hr til doubled in size.
Cut the dough into 9 pieces, roll out round or oval pittas, dust with flour to prevent sticking and leave to prove for another 30mins while you heat the oven to 220C. Use a heavy metal tin or a pizza stone, heat this in the oven and then pop the pittas on top, 2 or 3 at a time and cook until puffed and just beginning to colour (about 5-7mins).
